Yi Xiang Lin, the designer behind the Overture of Daylight residential project, has successfully broken through the stereotypes of space concepts. By utilizing ornaments and clever design techniques, the clear partitions between the kitchen, dining room, and living room have been diminished, visually broadening the inner space and making it more convenient for the client to host banquets. Large French casements have been installed to introduce more sunlight into the mansion, creating a bright and inviting interior.
The design of Overture of Daylight stands out with its elegant ambiance and simple color palette. The use of white paints, wood materials, and stones creates a gentle and refined image. The lightweight wooden TV wall and wooden lattices contribute to the overall Japanese style of the space. The entrance features a dressing mirror, adding transparency and brightness to the visual perception.
The main bedroom has been carefully planned to optimize the flow line. The inclusion of a blank aisle behind the bedside not only widens the leisure space but also provides storage options, redefining the scenery of the room. The closet door is made from a combination of different materials, matching the elegant space concept. The circular arc camber cladding, along with the bedside lamp chandelier, creates a comfortable and relaxed mood in the bedroom.
The Overture of Daylight design embodies a Japanese leisure mood, with a focus on brightness and elegance. The space is designed to accommodate hosting guests, with wooden materials, simple building stones, and a gentle color tone creating a welcoming atmosphere. The reception room, in Japanese style, features a painted wall depicting mountains and rivers. Tatami flooring and a low wood platform under the windowsill add to the authenticity of the space.
Completed in June 2020 in Kaohsiung, the Overture of Daylight project was driven by the client's desire to host and create a space that can accommodate a large number of people. The design research focused on the concept of the public domain, utilizing natural light and low Chroma materials to express quiet and elegant features. The challenge of creating distinct partitions was overcome by using ornaments, furniture, and functional items to imply domains, resulting in a unique and versatile living space.
The Overture of Daylight design, with its clever use of sunlight and focus on hosting guests, merges the idea of a clubhouse into the plan. The consistent materials, color tones, and lights create a promising and elegant space. The private domain is organized with simple textures and unique materials, bringing a distinctive mood to the bedroom.
This design was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2022. The award recognizes well-designed, practical, and innovative creations that meet professional and industrial requirements. The Overture of Daylight design stands out for its integration of industry best practices, competent technical characteristics, and contribution to a better world.
